OUR CORE BELIEFS
The following is a brief summary of our core beliefs which are entirely drawn from the Word of God.
1. That the Bible is God’s written Word to mankind. The Divine inspiration of the original accepted canon of scripture, gives it sole and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
2. In One Trinitarian God, The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit, who is eternal, all powerful, all knowledgeable and present everywhere. He is the creator of all things. God is love.
3. That God created man for eternal relationship with Himself.
4. That all of mankind, through disobedience and Satan’s deception, has become a slave to sin which separates us from relationship with God. No man can free himself from this condition by his own effort.
5. In Jesus Christ, The Son, came as both fully man and fully God, born of a virgin, to set mankind free from sin and reconcile us unto God, all accomplished by His sacrifice on the cross, His burial and His resurrection. Mankind’s sins were judged and their penalty was paid once and for all at the cross.
6. We accept Christ’s offer of freedom and reconciliation simply by faith in His sacrificial work. At this moment of faith, God declares us to be His adopted children and gives us new life in His family, The Body of Christ. We are spiritually re-born as the Holy Spirit now lives within us, to give witness to our adoption and make us fully alive in Christ as we allow the Holy Spirit and God’s written Word to transform us progressively into His likeness.
7. That Water Baptism, an act of obedience to God, symbolises our spiritual re-birth as we are baptised into Christ and His Body.
8. That the Holy Spirit empowers each believer with spiritual gifts, so that The Body of Christ may be built up in faith, hope and love, ready to proclaim the gospel of God’s grace with power and authority to the world.
9. That the Body of Christ in the world today, is the true universal church that operates under the headship of Christ and has mandate to administer God’s ministry of reconciliation to the world.
10. That the sacrament of Communion is to be observed by the Body of Christ to remind us of our reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ until He comes again.
11. That Jesus Christ is coming again in power and glory to rule and reign with His church forever.
